some flowers, some soft music, and close friends, your love for each other is enough to make anything you do seem special so enjoy the day.

see the latest Martha Stewart Weddings for the spread on a picnic wedding. there are some great ideas in there.
*individual lunch/dinners pre-packaged for each guest.
*serve sweet iced-tea and real lemonade
*have a dessert table w/ lots of family recipes and recipe cards for the guests to take home. include packaging for guests to take dessert "to go"
*individual tomato and mozarella salad packaged in little jars. so cute.
*rinnuculus are a great flower - just understated enough for a backyard wedding.
wedding gown by Melissa Sweet or Claire Pettibone would be lovely. or you can take the idea from Martha Stewart and forgo the traditional gown all together. pick a pretty summer dress instead.
just remember to have fun! no stress :D
hope this helps!

First, congratulations.
I always thought a butterfly release was a such a cool idea. There are people who specialize in this all over the country, just google "butterfly release wedding" and see if you find anything local. Here's a good site to get the idea:

Send everyone (friends, family ) in advance a scrapbook page or page from a photo album - ask them to fill it with a poem - a memory - photos - advice - a favorite recipe - etc. Then when they all come together for your reception - everyone can share what they put on their pages - and you can make a master album to house all of these things - And you have an instant heirloom and a precious gift to you from everyone you love and care about

Invite friends and family and have a good time. It should be special enough for you since you are both in love and are moving on to new and better things.
Good luck and God bless!

Hmmm...let's see...maybe if you have a digital camera and one of those little portable printers that you can dock it to and print right away, you (or someone you can assign to this task) can take candid pictures of your guests having a good time throughout the event and print them off in time to give to each corresponding guest as they leave.

I think you should just say in your heart what you feel for him. Basically write your own vows. Have him do the same.
