I had a great dane years ago and I am ready for another. It must be a female puppy. I would prefer a Fawn, Blue, or Hallaquin. My last dog died and I miss having a dog with me. They make a good companion.

first check the local great dane rescue, if you can't find one that you like there then I would start looking for a breeder if you're picky about a puppy that you want, I breed great danes and will be having a litter in mid September, and to those of you who say breeders just contribute to the problem, I already have people lined up before I have a litter and if for any reason anyone buys a puppy and can no longer keep it for any reason, including vet expenses I tell them to let me know and I will take the dog back and either keep it or find it a good home. There are responsible breeders out there, I have 5 great danes and they all live in the house with me, the last litter of puppies I had stayed in my room until they were all gone. As long as you know about the breed you will be ok, my blue female is more prone to allergies, but my blue boston male hasn't shown any sign of them yet. They are known to have genetic problems such as hip dysplasia, enlarged hearts, and bloat, just be sure and check the pedigree for any health issues. As long as you are aware the average life span for a Great Dane is 7-10 years due to their size...

That depends on where you live. My Dane came from Erebors Danes near Cleveland, OH (USA). Amanda's site is www.ereborsdanes.com She comes highly recommended by me! She should have pups available very soon. Also, you could find a dane rescue near you. In Ohio, Harlequin Haven is very popular. I believe they also have a link to other dane rescues. Your local news paper,Internet(but be careful on the net because there was a news article yesterday that said alot of ads are fake they are scamming people. Wanting you to send the money ahead of time. I wouldn't buy a dog unless I seen it first.You could also look up Great Dane Breeders on the internet. But again be careful.

Look in your local newspapers ads to find a breeder. Be sure to see the mother and father so you will know what your puppy will grow up to look like. I have heard never to buy from the Petstores because the puppies are not as healthy.

get a puppy from your local humane society or a local rescue! look on www.petfinder.com for a great dane rescue near you!

Always try your local shelter or humane Society first. They get in alot of pure bred dogs. Even if not pure bred, you might find one you fall in love with. And you will be saving a life.
