When I was about 4 years old I had spinal meningitis and had to have a spinal tap. I'm fine now though.
When I was in the Navy, I was a submariner, and during an operation we lost depth control and started to sink uncontrolably. Probably wouldn't have died that time, because I don't think the water was deep enough, but it would have sucked.

So how about you? Have you ever had a near death experience?

When I was 17 I had a car wreck
I was stopped trying to make a left hand turn when a car hit me from behind doing 65 mph and push my car in to the other lane of traffic and a 29ft motor home hit me at 55mph.
I did not have my seat belt on and I went throw the windshield on to the hood of the car and back lucky for me both of my knees got stuck in the dashboard so I was not thrown from the car.
I do remember when the ambulance got there the paramedic said " holy **** put the body bag back he is alive " who ever called it in told them I died. I had to spend 9 months in the hosp and was told I would never walk agene. But I did!! I walk fine now
You would never know I had to spend a total of 2 years learning how to walk all over. It does still hurt every day but I thank GOD am alive and walking now. That was 17 years ago.

I actually drowned when I was a baby (about 3 or 4), but I was revived. Thank God for parents who know Resuscitation and rescue breathing. Plus I've been to Iraq 3 times and I've probably jumped out of more than 100 aircraft ... I'm sure I've had about 8-10 near death experiences.

When I was a baby, I had a seizure for no reason at home. My parents rushed me to the hospital. There, I had a cardiac arrest and they actually told my parents I had died. They kept working on me and now I'm fine.
They never did find out what was wrong. It was a rare, one time thing. It was back in the late 70's, so I would have been considered a SIDS baby had I not made it.

Got washed out to sea with a bunch of friends when I was about 12. Two of my friends died.

When on a submaring got hit by a frigate and nearly got sunk. Huge damage to the boat but only one minor injury to the crew.

Also been on a sub when an inspecting officer ordered "fore and after planes and steering in emergency"! We slipped backwards so fast the boat was almost stern down bow up! Skipper caught it and got us back on an even keel but I think that was certainly the scariest moment.

When I was little I got caught in an undertow. My sister learned how to swim that day saving me.
When I was 27 I had a c-section and the anesthesiologist let my anesthesia get out of control. They threw my hubby out of the room and they had to raise me.
My personal memories of both situations are really freaky!
Oh, and somebody once shot me, but his gun was loaded with blanks... Does that count?

About 20 years ago, I drove my 1978 Honda Civic into a bridge abutment at approx. 70 mph. Broke all my ribs, had a depressed skull fracture, broke both orbital bones and had a brain injury. And I was wearing a seat belt!! I feel fine now!
Never drink and drive!!

Ya, I can remember a time my little brother almost died, he wants me to put this, when he was a baby, he fell off a table, and his heart stopped beating all together, my mom took him to the hospital, and teh doctors had to do an operation and he lived. when he was 4, me and my brothers and sisters had to take him to a kids dance, my parents told us to not let him out of our sights, when we got there, half of us went to go eat and half of us went to the bathroom leaving my brother by himself on a chair, he looked up on a table and seen some food, he was pretty hungry, he climbed up on the table and started eating, after he was done, he stood up and he could see us coming for him, he started to look a bit pale and he couldn't breath very good, until his heart stopped again, he fell off teh table, my oldest brother who was around 11 at the time caught him, we had an ambulance come and rush him to the hospital, the doctors called my parents and they came in, apparently my brother's heart stopped pumping and his lungs weren't working, he had to have an opperation, we were so relieved when he woke up. then not long ago he nearly drownedin a lake, now he's 10 years old and a few weeks ago, there was a fire in our house, it killed my dad instantly then my mom died in teh hospital, my little brother almost died cause he has really bad asthma, he nearly died, when he woke up in the hospital, he found out that mom was sent to that hospital, he without delay got up and ran to her room and just watched her die. and now his asthma started up again, he can't find his inhaler and he's really sick, really badly, and if we can't get him to the hospital quickly then we might lose him for good, if you have any concerns about how long this answer is or anything e-mail me, my e-mail is Alexer_96@yahoo.com or Alexander_rox_8@hotmail.com, thanks!
