Don't be superstitious, bury it......

The best thing to do is to bury it immediately. If you don't have any cats yourself, don't worry about it. Don't leave it in the open, because it will start to smell and it is very gross when flies come.
If you do have cats, you will want to know if the dead cat is contagious.
With the shovel, flip it over to see if has blood on it. It could have died from being hit by a car, a dog biting it, or maybe maybe from a different accident. If it had diarrhea or it nose had a discharge, it probably had a disease. If it was very skinny, it could have starved to death or was old.
Cats have to die somewhere, and most of the time they will try to crawl under something to hide. I don't know how old you are, but seeing a dead animal can be very upsetting.
See if someone else will bury it for you, and you might feel better by putting a stone for a marker on it's grave.
All cats die sometimes, and it doesn't matter if they are white, black or spotted. Don't worry what color it was.
Life and death is all something that happens to every living thing. Talking about it does help, as does posting your question on Yahoo.
I hope that this helps.

It means a dark colored feline has croaked in your back yard. I suggest you get it out of there before it starts smelling like a dead cat. What else do you think it means?

Means a black cat died in your yard. Oh yeah and it will not only start to stink real soon, but it will draw the attention of rodents and buzzards too.

It means that you better watch out for your own cats or any amimal you may have, there could be someone or something very mean in your neighborhood, or even disease. Now I would call te humane society or animal control to dispose of the cat and there for if the owner calls them describing the cat, then they will know.

It means someone should bury it. It is just a dead black cat in your yard. There is no such thing as superstition. Jesus loves you.

It means that someone was irresponsible and let their cat wander outside, that the poor thing did not have the life it deserved. It means nothing for you - black cats are innocent creatures, not the familiars of witches or any other nonsense.
