All my pets are like my children. Lots of men say stuff like that because they are insensitive and they are jealous!!!!! If they would treat us as sweet as our animals do, they would get alot more attention, right???

I treat my cats as though they are superior life forms (an in many ways, they are). They are no my children, they are my best friends. As I type this, my giant Murphy is lying in the desk to the left of the keyboard, his tail flicking, his ears twitching. Cats have provided me with the kind of fulfilling companionship that people have never been able to give. They are nonjudgemental, and as long as you treat them with love and respect, they will do the same for you. They don't play with your feelings the way they might play with a mouse. Their purr is just about the most wonderful sound in the universe. Many people have never been close with a cat, and thus cannot appreciate what wonderful beings they are. I often call my boy-cats Milo and Murphy "my brother!"
Perhaps your boyfriend is just jealous of the close relationship you have with your cat. The (very few) women I have been (very briefly) involved with in recent years have been extremely jealous of my 7-pound Tonkinese cat, Mina, and they were total cat lovers! In the end, I chose Mina over them, because she is a sweet and loving cat, not an insane time-bomb of low self-esteem and clingy neediness.

Your boy Friend don't know a thing about cats and yes, he is insensitive. So someday he will understand if you teach him, but some will never care. Yes, our cats are our babies, our kids!
I will say we are mom and dad to them too. That is how they treat us.

Yes I do. The only problem is my bf is alergic to them! so I have to change my clothes every time i see him. I hold my cat like a baby i take it to the bath room. I do almost everything like a parent to a baby because I had a cat that never ate or drank. He lived under the house

Well I talk to mine (all three) like they are kids, and I really think they "understand" me--at least to some degree--because they do "talk" back. And I pick them up and "love" on them like they are kids. I protect them, and keep them out of harms way just like I would with kids. So I guess maybe I do treat them like children to a certain extent.
Some people just aren't into cats, and some people are. Your boyfriend sounds like he isn't.

My children say I treat my cat better than them. She never gets in trouble and always gets to sleep on mom's bed.

Cats are equal members of the family - since they can't earn money and are quite playful, ppl tend to see them as their own children... At least I do ;-)
Keep on loving cats!

he is being insensitive. Animals are like our children they need to be taken care of and love. thats why alot of older people get pets because they missing taking care of their children so they get pets so they have someone to care for and feel needed.
