The Christian God is all-knowing, all-powerful, omnipresent, omniscient, unchanging, etc....If God were to show emotions, then God could not be all those things. If God could feel emotions, then God would be a changing being. If God is all-knowing and all-powerful then He should never have to feel emotion because all is already revealed to Him. Nothing is unexpected to him. However.....if God can't feel emotion, then he is no longer all-powerful, because a being that can do anything certainly should be able to feel emotion. I think the true answer to this question is that God is a logical paradox--impossible to reason through. Maybe you should consider atheism.

We all know the frequent saying that God is love. Isn't love an emotion? It is an action. God is a jealous God. Isn't that an emotion? How do I know that God has emotions and that he has feelings, because John 3:16, " Says that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whomsoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. "
First of all as human beings we can't even say what it seems like to us what God should be like, because God ways or not our ways, nor his thoughts our thoughts. We can't even think on the same plain that he thinks on. Our minds can only go so far when it comes to him spiritually. In order to even learn of him you have to be saved. You have to repent of your sins and first be baptized and be filled with the holyghost. If you don't do that than all your research and empty vain thoughts are just that vain. You will ever learn and never come to the full knowledge of the Word of God..
Another thing are you God? If you can honestly answer that question with a Yes, than you should know the answers to your own questions. For the statement that in order to be a God you must be way above that. God gave us the commandment to love our neighbor as ourselves. God would not give us commandments that he was not doing already. Love is a feeling. It seems to me that you have trouble believing that their is a God cause the way you stated that phase. God has human emotions he loves, he cries, he laughs, he gets angry and he gets jealous.
So what you are basically saying is that their is no heaven or hell, no good or bad, I don't see it because if that were the case than why do people do wrong and go to jail.
If you think like this than I guess their is no after life everyone is going to some place. That is not what the scriptures says. God would not warn you of present evil if their weren't any. For God is not a man that he should lie, nor the son of man that he should repent.
God doesn't have bad days. He is the creator of all that is good. We have bad days not God. Human beings always try to convince themselves of what is right and wrong, but the bible clearly says that. God also is a jealous God, he said thou shalt have no other God before me. another states 2Corinthians 11:2 verse says For I am jealous over you and with godly jealousy.... Another scripture says The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but all should come to repentance. This is all emotions in these 2 verses.
I have much more to give to you but I advise that you search the Bible and find out Jesus for yourself than you wouldn't have to ask questions that sounded like you didn't believe in him at all. Questions are good though.
May God bless you and strengthen you along the way.

It depends on what "god" you are talking about. The Christian God is said to love all of his children, but if so, then there would be piece on Earth, but since there isn't, then he has to have a great degree of impartiality.
On the other hand, other mythologies, like Greek and Egyptian, have shown that gods and goddesses tend have have rather strong emotions towards humans. Probably the most noted is Zeus, who fell in love with a human woman and produced a son, namely Hercules. And many other gods have had flings with humans.

Christianity and other religions depict 'God' as emotional, among other unflattering things. Emotions come from hormones and chemicals in the brain.
'God' has no brain; 'God' has no physical body - and 'God' is in NO WAY human.
You're absolutely right: 'God' is above all that; 'God' simply "is." To get a sense of this, all you have to do is gaze at the stars through a telescope, or visit http://hubblesite.org/gallery/album/ - there you see the true face of 'God'.
How refreshing to find an intelligent question/comment in this category. It doesn't happen often enough.

In response to your answers;
"I believe that GOD feels love..... "
God is love
"'God' simply "is."
Yes He is
"of course dear, god is also human *****. "
No, God is not human. God is omnipotent. Jesus was human but God did not create Jesus. Jesus is God, and He has always existed. Jesus never sinned regardless of the temptations. He has always remained pure and perfect. The depth of understanding as to why Jesus had to suffer is immense and really cannot be explained in this venue.
"god would have to know human emotions to understand us and since he created us I believe he does. "
God is emotion
"having never met him before, or even being truly convinced of his existance, I must say: no."
You my friend should be thankful that you have never met Him
"God is full of emotion. In the bible he gets angry, jealous, feels love, etc."
I don't believe God was ever jealous
"I think God understands every single aspect of humanity. He created us so He knows."
Duh!
"I think He has emotions...after all, we were created in His image so therefore we have all the wonderful emotions. He does get angry and sad and happy. He is everything that ever was...or will be"
Well said
"Actually we humans have all God emotions. God emotions are pure and very strong and we lack excellence of these emotions."
Well said
"It depends on what "god" you are talking about. The Christian God is said to love all of his children, but if so, then there would be piece on Earth, but since there isn't, then he has to have a great degree of impartiality."
Regardless of your belief in a higher power, there is only one God

Please review the word "mythology"

God gave us every emotion we have because we were created in His image. Even anger was intended for good. Gods emotions are all positive. He only hates what is impure and unholy. A little jealousy is good because jealousy can show how much one means to another as God does not want us serving any other Gods.
On the other hand, Satan has perverted everything which is why we have negative anger which leads to hating others and self, negative hate leads to bitterness or even murder, negative jealousy (envy), negative love (obsession and lust) which leads to worshiping another person or material thing.

God feels emotions, but does not have a fallen nature like humans and his emotions are good
God describes himself in the Old Testaments with terms of emotions.
In Isaiah 53 it even says it pleased God to crush Him and the pleasures of God will propsper in His hands
In Matthew the Father says this is my son in whom I am well pleased... well pleased implies a pleasure
Jesus for the joy before Him endured the cross
In my view, this is contrasting with a buddist view where extinguishing pleasure is the goal,, but in the Jewish and christian view pleasures are neutral things which can be used for good or bad and God;s pleasures are good

God is full of emotion. In the bible he gets angry, jealous, feels love, etc.
However, certain emotions like jealousy are only proper for God. The act of jealousy is based on wanting something you feel is yours. In the bible God is jealous when others put Gods before him. Since he is the one and only God, he has a right to feel this way.

God is very intimate with us, read Psalm 139. Read Isaiah 1 1 Corinthians 13, God feels what we feel because we are one with Him, if we have the Holy Spirit in us, He comforts us He even prays for us, when we can't (Romans 8), read the whole Bible and you will get a better picture of the love God has for us. The Bible is His love letter to us.

Scince we are created in his image I believe that means that he has emotions too. But seeing as how a blink of His eye is like a thousand years and he always has been and will be, I don't think he has bad days.
