Could you confidently take the test in church in front of the whole congregation whilst strapped up to a polygraph machine?

Yes absolutely. Two of my really good friends do not believe in God and I testified to the both of them over and over with them firing questions at me. Those who say they really don't believe have no idea what they are saying. I would say I believe in God in front of anyone. And who cares about a lie detector test.

Also, note the fact a polygraph machine can be beaten. I know people who've done this and I strongly suspect I could beat one.

I don't that that is likely. I wouldn't go to a church that had that as a test for faithfulness. Nope I wouldn't do it. The church is taught to let your nos be noes and toy yes, yes. If what I tell them isn't enough I don't want to be there.

Not a problem. Your question makes me laugh, tho, the only one who'd really care if you are telling the truth or not is God Himself, and you can bet you are tied to his lie-detector 24/7, how would you get to leave it?

It might be kind of fun to sit there and answer "yes" and watch the needles start wiggling. Maybe they'd quit telling me that I do believe in god inspite of me stating otherwise.

Why is it hard to say one believes in God? Do you think that most people who say they believe in God don't really believe?
A tougher question is whether you would say you believe in God while someone is pointing a gun to your head, and will kill you if you answer 'yes'.

Oh yes. My heart is filled with such love for Jesus, and I know in my heart that I believe in Him and would not have any trouble with such a test.
