When the religion was created approximately 2000 years ago, the human race was quite ignorant of the true nature of the universe. Our "science" at the time was laughable conjecture. Basically, religion WAS our science. It was also our government.
Since then, we have made extraordinary advances in our understanding of the universe. And we now know just how silly and misguided our original theories (that the boogie-man created the world by magic) really were. Unfortunately, these theories, as I mentioned above, weren't just our science. They were also our government, and our philosophy for life.
Basically, religion had become an intrinsic part of our human society. We couldn't just discard it, regardless of whether it had been disproven. It would shake up our entire culture. We'd have to form new kinds of governments, and find new philosophies to live our lives by. Religion was simply too important to do away with, no matter how silly it was, at its heart.
And to this day, we still live with this paradox. The majority of educated people in this world recognize the fact that the Bible is laughably false. But many of us still pretend that it's not. We make excuses for the bible. We call it a book of parables. We say it's meant to enlighten us, not explain the world to us. We say "our relationship with God" is what's important, not whether we believe the Bible, etc.
But what it boils down to, is we are currently transitioning, as a species, from these primitive superstitions. We are moving forward into the new world, where we must develop new philosophies, new ethics, new politics, everything. So it's tough right now. There are still people being lazy-brained about it, and simply accepting the old. They don't want to be bothered to question their beliefs. They don't want the hassle of figuring out the truth. They prefer the comfort of their ignorance.
And unfortunately, those people hold the rest of us back. But I really do think that in a few generations, these "lazy-brains" will go the way of the dodo. Our grandchildren will be more willing to explore the unknown, as they won't be as ingrained with religion as we are. It should be a very exciting time.

Look up any history book and it will talk of Jesus and the coming of the Christian faith and how it began and swept the countries. God sent his only son and there is no other explanation for the wonderful things in this life that we have received. God has a plan and he works his love and his grace every day upon this earth. Without it, the world would be a shambles. Thank you Lord.

They are infected by a mental virus, the same as all religious beliefs, most politics, and most sports fans. These are highly emotionally charged areas because they are areas where people make decisions for emotional rather than rational reasons.
Mental viruses prey on this weakness of the human psyche. The viruses cooperate with eachother to keep the weakness open by raising the concept of 'faith' to a sacred level with never ending pleas of 'you just have to believe'.

The Bible is the foundation of the Christian faith, so you cannot dismiss it when asking why we believe.
Everyone has free will, and based on information and experiences I have encountered in my lifetime, I choose to follow Jesus and have accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. It has been a blessing upon my life in ways you cannot understand unless you know Him.

It's not hard to when what the Bible says that things are going to happen and they actually do. Also, I believe what I do because threw prayer God really does answer them. I just have faith. It feels good. :)

I don't know about other christians but I can truly say that its not simply a belife, but a realtionship. heres my testimony.......
I was your average, person, a very “nice guy.” I loved my mom and dad, had a decent home, played little league, and even went to church. Whenever I thought about life after death I had no fears at all. After all, I believed in God and Jesus… and I thought I was a pretty good person. I felt that if anyone could end up in Heaven, I probably would. Then came the shock of a lifetime! Let me explain by asking you a couple of questions…
Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and we’ve only looked at three of the Ten Commandments.
What a shock! God didn’t see me as the “nice guy” I imagined myself to be… and he doesn’t see you that way either. Nothing you’ve ever done is hid from His holy eyes. Will you be innocent or guilty on the Day of Judgment? Listen to your conscience. You know that you will be guilty, and therefore end up in Hell. That’s not God’s will. He provided a way for you and I to be forgiven.
He sent His Son to take our punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death.
Your own so-called “goodness” can’t get you into heaven any more than mine could. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name, so pray something like this: "Dear God, I repent of all of my sins (confess them). This day I put my trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Please forgive me and grant me your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen."
( I repented as Jesus commandmend in the BIble and I truly experienced peace and forgiveness for my sins and I know today that I will fellowship for an eternity with God in heaven.)

Study the Bible and watch the news!
The Bible has been telling us for a LONG TIME about what you're seeing today. Don't be closed-minded and risk your soul. Study up, give it a chance for your eternal sake.

Hello,
There are different types of Christian. Christain by faith and Christain by name. I am a christain and i believe in God and all his wonders. Christain by name are those who go to church every sunday look at there watch so when its like 5 minute to end the meeting they are out and behave in a bad way till sunday again.
I believe in God, God is unique and the ultimate being, God is the only way, he is not like us i mean human he knows the way and he has given us the path all we have to do is follow it or be condemned.

because people need answers...being scared of the unknown will cause even the most outrageous answers to seem like truth if it makes someone feel better about death...i also believe it started as a good teaching of morals and turned into a crazy occult like every other religion

I'm a quite devoted Christian who believes what she believes because it's a natural faith in me. I don't think it's someting you can learn or anything, unless a miracle occurs in the person who doesn't have the natural goodness in the first place.
