Should we change ourselves just because some one said that they are not happy with the way we are? I am not talking about being an alcoholic, drug user and extremities, but just a simple Me.

Hummmm Complexity ... Both can be equally important !!!! Sometimes the way people see others is not always accurate..... They may see someone, as a mere reflection of self (a triggered response of their own issues.) Sometimes we need a gentle nudge to buff ruff edges of self....where we can be thankful as fortunate enough to have someone bring about awareness which helps us to make changes, leading us to a refined self and a pathway of new opportunities. There are many who choose to change themselves to suit the needs of others ... Shackled by control only to find themselves lost. ( Losing Self can be a long hike back, filled with snares and detours !)
Yet If one has been lucky enough in this life time...to have perfected an authentic self from soul qualities... What a treasure trove it can be ! Seek Wisely...Blessings

This is a good question! I've had a period when i thought like you.Sure it is important what others says about you, but you can't change just because someone says so...in fact the way you see yourself has a big influence in the way the others see you. If you are an optimistic person, others have a good impression on you and that thanks to the way an optimistic person sees himself.I don't think we should change ourselves for others, you might change yourself for you, for your own good.So the most important is Me, the way i see myself.

Be yourself. If you change for everyone then who are you but just a mirror.
You have to live with yourself forever and after you change for them they find that they don't like you the way they made you and then leave you hanging not knowing who you are.

You have to like yourself first or you cannot like others. Its ok to change the things you dont like about yourself but dont worry so much about what others say. Thats what makes you uniquely you.

sometimes we gotts play roles in society, to fit in certain situations....
but with close Friends always be yourself....if someone says they are not happy with the way your are...find out if your demeaner is hurting others or offensive ....if not...keep doing what your doing...it's always better to be yourself...because you may forget who you were the last time...
