It's really sickening. It's like it's "cooler" to be mean and nasty than to be a respectful, basically "good" person. What happened to morality and pride in oneself? Are there any good people left out there!?!?

Yes!! I'm good and believe in good!! Sorry for the over-enthusiasm, but I'm so glad you asked!! I'm so angry that nice and good people are seen as naive and nasty people to be seen as intelligent! It's so sad and infuriating!! I'm tired of it... swearing and acting like a bum or s*** is cool and acting kind and good is cool? What's going on? Not to act dramatic or anything, but don't you think evil is getting a bit too much into people nowadays? It's quite frightening, as well, really. That's why I pray and do my best to act good because since there's so much bad, I want to stay away and act differently! I'm just a bit confused- what happened to etiquette? Happiness? Kindness? Forgiving? Goodness in most people? It seems so... lost. It seems like it's just a minority of people that have truly good hearts and minds... but I guess we just have to look hard! I only hope people will evolve and realize what's best for them and us! Finally, I want to say thank you for asking this and reading my answer!

There are plenty of good people engaging in a lot of negative behavior. We all tend to slip up sometimes but it appears that it is better to be first, the winner, the aggressor or the one with the most money and power than to be trustworthy, kind, giving and fair.

Don't be discouraged - there are far more good people out there than bad. Just stay true to yourself and treat others with consideration and you'll do fine. Those people without morality will find that their lives will suffer do to their lack of consideration.

I agree. I think people want to see if people will still like them if they are a meanny or a prick (for lack of better words). And get this some people like being around that type of people. Me, I like to surround myself with good people. Then when the ugly people come around (ugly meaning referring to the attitude) I walk away.

I think its related to the way we portray sex in the media.
Because of our Puritanical influences, we tend to show only evil people having great sex lives on TV and in the movies. Good people are supposed to have very bland sex lives, if they have it at all.
I think this is entirely the wrong message to send out to people, because sex is one of the most powerful motivators there is--sending this message makes people want to be bad, because they think that's the only way to get any.

I consider myself to be a good person. I see what you are saying and I'm trying to make a difference. I believe that if enough people start being good role models we can fight this illness in society and bring hope back to the world. i go thru my whole day/week/life trying to be as good as i can,
morally, ethically, treating other people and every way i can.
young people sometimes have a tendency to think that being nasty makes you cool or superior.

Goodness! Good question! Yeah I 've noticed that too. I think especially the younger generation do that. I think it is a matter of self preservation.
All the "goth" stuff no one wants to be perceived as vulnerable.
