Do you think that it is possible, that during our lifetime, we visit both heaven and hell?

In my life, there have been times when I have been in 'pure heaven' and then there have been times, when I have gone through 'hell on earth'.

Perhaps we really do experience heaven and hell only during our lifetime and that when we die, it is truly 'The End' of all things.

Intelligent responses will be much appreciated.

Thanks for asking.

Jesus spoke of Heaven and Hell as literally as He spoke of Nazareth and Jerusalem. The Bible does the same in general. This is why Christians follow their Rabbi in this belief.

It's OK to speak of good and bad experiences on the earth as "heaven" and "hell" respectively, as long as one doesn't confuse them with the reality that awaits us all in the life to come.

Or maybe we just stay here for a while experiencing both heaven and hell due to the consequences or results of our thoughts and actions.

At some point we make the connection between these thoughts and actions and the way they inevitably make us feel. At some point this coalesces into an understanding that we create heaven and hell by our thoughts and the actions that result from these thoughts. Once we realize this we start to be much more careful about what it is that we are thinking.

Soon the heaven idea begins to be the predominant reality for us so we are even more careful how we are thinking and acting. At some point we become so good at controlling the negative thought patterns that were creating the hell for us that they simply cease to exist.

At this moment we realize that we had never actually left heaven except in or negative thoughts. At this point heaven is recognized as our true reality and the loving God that created us and sent us on this journey of discovery to find the truth of what we are, welcomes us home to this truth about ourselves that we have finally realized.

Just a thought. Could that possibly be all that is keeping any of us in a hell of our own making?

If any of this made any sense to you, I suggest you get a copy of the book A course in miracles. It is a road map to this vision of reality that you are obviously starting to recognize on you own. It will help you understand a little better what you are starting to understand on your own.

Love and blessings.

Yes, i do think that in our lifetime that we go through several experiences of heaven and hell....but i also believe that we can experience this after death, as i believe that we live on in spirit.
I truly believe that when we leave our physical bodies that it is not the end, and that we wait to be reborn again, to experience and learn what we didnt learn the last time round......these experiences could be heaven or hell, good or bad, or call it what you will.
I would like to add also that the description of heaven and hell is a religious concept.....so therefore if you are religious you are more likely to believe in heaven and hell and the experience of it......i personally think they are other words for good and bad.
This is my interpretation of this, and i think your question an interesting one......do you have any more of a similar nature? i would love to know.

We may get a little taste of what they are like, but Hell is much worse than any thing we can experience here, and Heaven is much more wonderful than anything we can experience here.

Plus we only have the little tastes for a very short time. Heaven and Hell are forever!

Live for the moment, don't "save" yourself from fun to enjoy it in the fictitious afterlife. As ridiculous as the concept of heaven and hell may be, they can be quite apt when used as metaphors to describe life. Heaven are moments of pure joy, while hell is emotional torment. However apt they may be to describe life, heaven and hell are still silly concepts as even if one lives a life full of good, it still does not deserve eternity of joy, and likewise an evil person for a lifetime of say 70 years also does not deserve an infinite number of years of torment as punishment.

hello:}
hell is here on earth i do believe this and have for decades ,i think we as souls choose to come here on this heavy planet with so many dark people and negativity .
we choose it so we can experience it and become more elevated within our souls ,without trial and heartache how would or could we possibly expect our souls to become 'educated to speak .
we are given free will to make choices ,we all KNOW right from wrong ,good from evil but some CHOOSE to ignore their own conscience.
i think we as a spiritual body have to choose to be companions with the higher being [God] .
i can not believe their is a god who sits up there and lets people suffer here on this hell planet without some very large spiritual lessons .
i do believe their is another side [the other side ]i also think soul development is greater when we do live our lives on this planet .but does evil go to hell ???
i think the truly evil die and come right back to this hard negative planet .
and the souls that are good can perhaps rest and go somewhere else .
there is so much to this philosophy that it is way to lengthy for this forum .
anyway ,hell is earth for sure ...........i do not believe in eternal damnation for any soul .
i can not believe we are just like animals and die and that's it ,whats the point !
anyway

I'm not sure whether life on earth is hell but I do believe that life on earth is the lowest level of existence and the only way to progress to a higher level is to learn and love as much as possible while we are on this earth.

this life we live now is a test ,every thing we did in it decides where we will be in the next life.
but when we feel that we are in heaven we should remember that this in the earth is smaller than a fly according to the real heaven and also hell is the same.

Perception is everything. We all go through good times we could term Heaven and bad times we could call Hell. If you take the view of some Atheists death is the end of it all.

Don't expect intelligent responses when talking about myths like heaven, hell, and 'The End' of all things.
