He/she may be allergic to the milk. My son was lactose intolerant as an infant and I put him on soy milk (Isomil) and that took care of the problem.

Breast Milk is only the right answer. Never discontinue breast-feeding. For first 4-6 months baby should get only breast milk and nothing else, not even water, if not advised by some doctors for ORS. Always burp the baby after each feeding for at least 15 - 20 minutes each time. Place the baby over your chest and gently tap his/her back for 15 - 20 minutes. it may resolve the problem. Most of the babies may have belly pain, if it is short lasting at a time, you should not worry. Whether really he/she vomits or just some milk comes out after feeding (possetting). If it is vomiting curdy in small amount or possetting, you don't worry. you may also consult www.bpni.org for correct positioning of your baby during breast-feeding. If problem persists, consult a Paediatrician.

I had the same problem with both my children, soy milk for infants available in your drug store or in Australia you can get a prescription for it so it is less expensive. Make Sure it is a baby formula not just any soy milk. Also I don't know if you have mylanta there but there is one made for infants in Australia now. When my children were young they only had adult mylanta and my doctor recommended i used that, but only a few drops.
And to Kamish_11 not all women are naturally able to breast feed!!!

Take your child to the pediatrician. If the pediatrician doesn't answer your question satisfactorily, go to another pediatrician. There are many conditions, some serious, that can cause your child to continue vomiting and getting gas. One of those conditions is Pyloric Stenosis. Although it is unlikely your child has this condition, it is better to be safe and talk to a pediatrician. Vomiting is not a typical condition for simple gas, so I would not assume that your child merely has gas.

Try "mylicon" for baby gas. If you get store brand it is cheaper, but it breaks up the gas and takes away the pain associated with it. it is safe for babiesof all ages. i used it when my daughter was 1 week old. you may want to call your family doctor for more suggestions on switching a formula

Did you burp your baby after feeding? This process is very important. I've seen my friends spending entire hour stroking their babies' back just to make sure the gas comes out.

Not sure if you believe in chinese medicine, there is this ointment that we use to rub on the baby's tummy after every bath. It helps with the gas problem.

I had to put my baby on soy too. This kid I work with had to put his baby on this one that's for protein intolerance in the formula. You better bring him to the Dr and see what he says. You shouldn't change your baby's diet without first talking to your Dr. Even just call and talk to the nurse see what she says. Good luck honey
