What is the appropriate way to apologize to a kyoshi of a dojo ?

Please note: It isn't just to say "sorry". That is just ridiculous. If it were that easy, I wouldn't be asking the question.

(if this applies)ask to speak to him in private.
Bow and be respectful,tell him your sincere apology.
Finish with a bow, and a handshake (if allowed)
