As has been said above, each has its good qualities, and its bad qualities.

One of the biggest differences between the two is security. If you plan to be on many different (and sometimes questionable) networks, Windows XP Pro would be your best bet.

However, if security is not a concern, XP Home is a little more user friendly, as per graphics. The shapes are more rounded, and everything is a little less sharp. Not blurry at all, but more comfortable. While this doesn't matter to most people, its something to consider, esp. if you are a new computer user.

And, if you install one and decide you don't care for it, you can uninstall it and format your hard drive, as long as you do it early on. I hope his helps.

Cheers.

It really doesn't matter. You can make any of the PRO features work under the HOME edition. It's a cake walk.

If you used the home edition, you would not even notice after a while. It simply doesn't matter. But if you wanted to LEARN how to make HOME work like PRO, then try that.

Use XP pro. I have home edition, and it really isn't that much different. Pro just has a bunch of extra features. So really, there is no reason to use home if you have pro.

I genuinely have XP with SP2. it is a duplicate. The serial numbers artwork. yet i don't understand how plenty (many cases) of a duplicate it is. i'm particularly useful that no be counted if it is a duplicate, or a minimum of downloaded, no longer from unique, then you definately will continuously get a "no longer actual" assertion. sure, this sucks, and you'd be able to't get computerized updates. i do no longer think of it is that significant. only turn off computerized replace, and in case you may desire to get an replace, only seek for it one by one. domicile windows XP with SP2 is extra desirable, has extra useful components thatn domicile, in spite of the shown fact that it is no longer intense to the operation or overall performance of the computing gadget. in spite of the shown fact that, having a save offered actual actual replica is often ultimate. in case you may locate the money for it, yet no longer probably necessary. Your equipment would be superb.

Use the pro. My personal opinion is to use the one that you have the most experience with. You have used pro in other settings, and are comfortable with that specific software.
