Just start balancing out the 2 drives. Think of a drive as a giant folder. To transfer files from one drive to another, simply select them, right click, and hit cut. Next, open the D drive, right click, and hit paste. It will move the files from the c drive to the d drive. Now, when you are installing stuff on your computer, always go to the drive with more free space. This will keep them pretty balanced.

You can easily move data file (such as music, pictures, text documents, etc.) to the D drive simply by dragging and dropping them. You will probably want to create folders on the D drive (My Pictures D, My Music D, etc to help organize them. Then delete the files from c drive. That will free up space quickly.

Moving a PROGRAM to the D drive is another issue. You can NOT just drag and drop a program because all the registry information for the program is still going to point to the C drive, so the program would not work. You have to uninstall the program from your C drive, and then reinstall it. During the install most programs will give a choice to do a custom install. You will want to change the directory where the program is installed to somewhere on the D drive, rather than the C drive.

You could try moving any files such as music and photographs to drive D. Also you could get some space back by moving your virtual memory (Swap file) to D also. Create new folders on drive D then select the files (not programs) and select Move to other folder. That deletes the file on C drive and writes them to D drive. Good luck!

Before beginning please note:

DO NOT copy the 'Windows' or 'Program Files' folder as these are required to stay. You may find many files inside 'My Documents'

Go to 'My Computer'
Open 'Vaio C'
Find one of your personal folders which contains a lot of data. (IE C:\My Documents\your user name\'
Right click on this folder and choose 'Copy' (NOT the My Documents folder, but files/folders within it)
Open another 'My computer' window and choose 'Vaio D'
Right click in a blank area OR choose 'Edit' then 'Paste'
Go back to the original 'Vaio C' window with the item you selected to copy and delete it.
