My Grandad did his first parachute jump on his 80th birthday and he still says it's one the best things he has done in his whole life.
If you're worried then get her to go to the doctor for a check-up first, but I wouldn't stop her altogether if it's something she really wants.
She might really regret it when she reaches an age when it does become far too dangerous.

no you are right....bungee jumping is a serious sport. You usually have to sign a waiver or something before they let you jump. because of unknown health reasons. they do not want to be responsible if you had a heart attack on the way down....Being scared can kill you.
you heard the saying..."Scared to Death...yeah...because it happens.... And at her age...we really don't know her full medical history ...
she may be young at her...but her heart isn't young...
my mom is 57 and i don't think I would let her do it...good looking out .....

You know your mum, even though she´s young at heart, she´s not really a very young woman. And if you did it, it´s because you are concerned about her, you love your mom.

She needs to get permission from her doctor. If she has heart problems, I doubt she will get approval to do this. If her heart is strong and healthy and she really has her heart set, make sure her will is updated, just in case, and let her go.

Personally I think it was your mother's decision to make, 61 isn't that old and you have deprived her of a great experience. All that said sometimes its best to be safe rather than sorry...

I agree with you and I would ask my mother to not do it as well. My mom is wanting to buy a Harley and I keep talking it out of it as she's not that great a driver in a car at her age any way so why chance it?
