There's no set rule. If anything, taking more time is usually a better choice than rushing into something. If you're supposed to be with that person, you'll be with that person. If you have already developed a friendship by the times things become more serious, SO much the better.

A date is always serious, since the very first.
No way that a player gets serious some times ahead.
If you instead intend how long it takes before realizing that the dating may become a serious relationship, then dont know, i knew my wife was the one before asking her out the first time.

what does being serious mean and why is it so important to be that way?? Live man, don't press the issue of having a "serious" relationship. It should just happen on its own, if you try and control issues like that, they will not work. SO take it easy and just go with the flow

There is no specific number of dates you should go on with someone before you start talking about being serious.

Dates don't weight into a serious relationship, true intimacy does. i never been on a date with my boyfriend but one day he decided that we should depend on each other and count on one another in a way that no one else could. ever since we been going strong for 1year and 4months.

The number of dates is not the yardstick to decide how serious you two can get, but how you two feel about each other. Take it easy and good luck!

it is not measured by the number of dates you had before... you can go on a serious relationship if you feel you are prepared for it

It depends on both people, really. It sounds cheesy, but listen to what is going on inside yourself ... be true to your own feelings on the matter, and you'll be fine. Remember though, he/she might not feel the same way, and that's ok. It wasn't meant to be then.

just talk about relationships...ask her what does she think is a long enough time for two people to know if they should move on.... or be together....whats her take on it.....then your answers will come up...because she will ask you the same thing back...then tell her how you feel....
