Theis is what Jesus said before He went back to heaven:
Matthew 24:4-8
"Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 "For many will come in My name, saying, `I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. 6 "And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 "All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Matthew 24:11-15
11 "Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 "But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
15 "Therefore when you see the `abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place"(The Holy of Holies of the soon to be rebuilt third temple on the temple mount) (whoever reads, let him understand),

It is close, and I pray I'm ready, but the timescale of God is different to that of man, so it may not be close in our terms. Either way, yes, I believe I am ready, and I see the signs that the revelation is coming, and I hope and pray I will soon be home in heaven.

Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 "For many will come in My name, saying, `I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. 6 "And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars.
WAR HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE THE BEGINNING OF TIME, CHILD - THIS IS NOT NEW NOW - NOR WILL IT EVER BE NEW. SO YOU DO NOT KNOW "WHICH WAR" NOR DOES GOD WANT YOU TO KNOW WHEN"

See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
BUT THE END IS NOT YET.

7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 "All these are the beginning of sorrows.
THERE HAVE BEEN NATIONS AGAINST NATIONS, KINGDOM AGAINST KINGDOM, PEOPLE HAVE BEEN STARVING ALL OVER THE WORLD (HAVE YOU NOT OPENED YOUR EYES TO THE REST OF THE WORLD OR JUST YOUR OWN LITTLE WORLD?) NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN, CERTAIN PEOPLE IN THE USA (where I am) ARE UPSET BECAUSE THEY SEE THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THEIR LIVES. IT'S BEEN GOING ON FOREVER.

People tend to read the bible and the bible is full of "History" but there are also Geography and History Book and books you can learn about prior earthquakes, floods, fires, people starving all over the world, hurricanes, everything for SO SO SO MANY YEARS. You all go ahead and try and guess the day the world will end. Oh.....I don't doubt it will sometime BUT YOU ARE NAIVE to think that YOU are the only one NOW seeing this stuff that's gone on since the BEGINNING OF TIME. 9/11 woke people up. There has been terrorism all over the world for years (they are huge) --- we got a SMALL TASTE of them only. You need to research MORE THAN JUST THE BIBLE. I am not saying don't read the bible -- but there is MORE to all of it than you think.

Yes, in Matthew 24, Jesus talks about natural disasters indicating the end of the world. The ultimate question is how many catastrophic disasters will take place before Jesus Christ returns? It's easy to address this issue far from the disaster locations, e.g. Hurricane Katrina, September 11, Sunami - so many people have lost their lives. I thank God for saving me and keeping me safe from danger. I am ready for the return of his son, Jesus Christ.

So many people think they are pure of heart enough to be ready for the rapture, yet no one thinks they are ever ready to parent a child. Raising a baby is something that no one can ever seemingly prepare for, but you are ready to withstand the judgement of God and face the end of days. Peculiar.

I fail to see where any of this scripture dictates that the second coming is close to our modern times. All of these things have been happening throughout history. People have been preaching the end of the world throughout history.

Yes. Yes I am ready to face the end, and calmly saunter into the pits of hell. I am more than ready. I got a bone to pick, an axe to grind. I don't believe. People nearly pray for the end of the world and a second coming of your Savior. It almost appears as if Christians beg for this to happen in their lifetime. They would just love to able to say they were right. It would answer so many questions of meaninglessness.

How quaint it is to spend one's entire life preparing for death. Those who live to die instead of dying to live, are already dead. Death is a fixation that blinds the beautiful transience of the eternal moment. The quality of life was not meant to be lived for the preparation of death. This your life. Be free. Live it.

Amen! No joke, I was JUST reading that passage the other day. I am more than ready! Sure, there are worldly things I'd love to do yet, but I'm so tired of all the violence and ignorance that is going around, and those worldly things won't matter in the long run anyway, so I'm ready. And for my grandmother, who is 82, I would love for her to see Him come back in her lifetime, though I know without a doubt that if He does not come in her lifetime that she will be going to Heaven. Are you ready? :)

No-one will know when the end is coming. Many times in the past the signs have shown it was near the end and it wasn't. But, I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior.
I would not insult you over your comments and question.

I am ready, ready as I will ever be.

what if an old homeless man came up to you saying that he was Jesus - would you actually believe it or would you just think that he is just another weirdo?

we all know that he will come back sooner or later, but what if he is already here and we are so impressed by the picture we have from the son of god that we wouldn't see the normal person behind it?

i think that in case he would come back and tell us that he is who he is we would send him straight to the mental institution or nail him to a cross (literally spoken) - especially those who are really obsessed with him....
