The original Budweiser, still brewed in what is now the Czech Republic, was the model for the beer known as Budweiser in America. That original, also known as Budvar (and now imported to the U.S. under the name Czechvar), was very popular in the palaces of the royal families of Europe, so it became known as "The Beer of Kings."
When Anheuser-Busch started making their American version, they couldn't use that same slogan, so they just turned it around and called it "The King of Beers."

I wish I could say it was an lection but like all ruling royalty,it originally gained the title through a hostile takeover which was then handed down through generations.
I am hoping soon that they will begin to intermarry with other beers to strengthen their alliances and increase power within the monarchy

Some american probably who hasn't got a clue wot a decent beer tasteslike. All their beer is like water. I went to america when i was 15, drunk 10 cans of beer and didnt even feel tipsy.

Some pathetic moron in the advertising biz, and in my opinion Buttwiper is the worst of beers:( Bleck! I'll take a Molson Ice over most US domestic beers any day:)

I know. I find that statement to be very odd at best, since Miller is clearly the better beer. Almost as odd as all car dealerships being #1 in the country.
