Let's think about it. If humans HAD written the Bible, I'm pretty sure they would have come up with a god who would have excused any kind of behavior and had absolutely NO standards of decent living at all.

That's the way human beings are. (All of us)

The Bible teaches us to rise above who and what we are, and shows us how to do that.

No, we don't get to see Jesus in the flesh, but we have the whole Bible to look at. We get to look at the ancient history of the Hebrews clear through to the end of the world as we know it.

The people of Jesus' time didn't have that. The manuscripts which turned out to be the Bible didn't even start getting put to pen and papyrus until John Mark started writing at least 50 years after Jesus had gone back to be with the Father.

I hope this helps.

I m sure that you would have known about the Davinci code book. Even this book which critcses Bible(4 gospels but not greatness of Christ according to its author) says try to live a great life like his instead of just chanting the verses of the Bible. If every christian leads a life like Jseus, the earth would be heaven. I am not a christian by birth nor do i have any plans of converting. Still I do dream of a life like him. Not for he is the greatest celibrity of 1st century but for his teachings and love for all beings and not just humans. Once we all lead a great life like his, we can be sure that Jehovah will send his son for guiding us, in case the myth is real history. I am the first against conversions. Still one he decends I wil be among the firsts to bow to him and prostrate on his feet. It is not just another book. If it were it would not have had the importance it had. The billions of christians cannot be a mad crowd. You can fool a hundred, not billions. His message of love is true. We would not have blessed the crucifiers as he did. Perhaps if we had his spirit we might do so. Even if you consider Bible as the best seller novel the character is worth the importance it has considering monuments built for Sherlock Holmes in Britan. The essence of the character is worth worshiping and is infinite times lager than the answer to the question "did he live?" in case the answer is no. When you throng the shops and spend the night before release outside the shop for Harry Potter you can very well worship Jesus Christ. I am no Christian in religion. But the character is my hero and not god. I do hero worship. Worshiping my hero Christ is far better than worshiping Arnie or Tom Cruise. Hail the life of Christ as the gospels say it is(if he were so great). I love the teachings of Christ still I will never convert. I know if he were true he loves me more for trying to follow him. He will appreciate. Try to see him in the place of your grandfather whom you have only heard about but not seen and no photographs available. I think I have answered that.God is Great

Sadly, humans DID add what they wanted to add, under Emperor Constantine's First Council of Nicaea in the 4th Century A.D. No one can prove or disprove the existence of God, but the Christian Bible's history does not bode well for claims of divinity.

One way to look at it is like this , the Bible , Koran , Dead Sea scrolls and other books of religion were all written by man for man as guidelines for living life . Spirituality is all in how you view and act with yourself and others .

Well, we can't know for certain. I've always been told that it was God-inspired, but too, keep in mind that humans copied it by hand for centuries. There is a famous instance in I think the 1200s when because of human error one of the commandments was Thou shalt commit adultry. Once it was discovered it was fixed, but who knows how many other mistakes similart to that one went unnoticed.

yes it's real , and no it's not just another book , The Bible is the living Word of God . if you where to see Him , would that make you believe more ? do you see with only your eyes ? open your heart , and see Who Jesus truly Is. sometimes our eyes play tricks on us , but the heart never lies.

All scripture was given by Inspriation of God. I somehow doubt that the Allmighty, All Powerful God would let some idiot put flase words in His book that He intended to save mankind.

Uh oh - sounds like you're beginning to think. Remember, thinking is not compatible with religion although it is highly compatible with being a mature, rational, delusion-free human being.
