God created everything. We, as human beings can't even comprehend "God always being there". Believe me, if you try, it will blow your mind. It's just a faith thing - believing that He always has been and always will be. It's like trying to think of this question ---- "Is there a rock that would so big that God couldn't lift it?" if you actually stop and think about that, if you picture the rock it will blow your mind. Just relax and believe, have faith. Look around you, at the sky, the grass the trees, your children - all of this didn't come from some big atomic bang. Someone had to meticulously create everything. Just look at your body, at all of the miraculous things your body can do, at the intricacy of even one finger - the blood flow to it, how you can bend and utilize it, at your finger nails - at how when you cut your finger, it heals itself and new skin grows, at how you can feel different textures and temperatures with that one little finger. Wow. And that's just a finger. We were created like this. Some people may argue that we evolved. Well, if we did, then how did the thing we evolve from get here. And then, of course there's always the question of "if we evolved from apes and monkeys, then why are there still apes and monkeys?" That's an easy one to answer - - because we didn't evolve. God created us this way. He always has been and always will be. And, He loves you! Hope this helped a little.

Before earth and man were created, God was there but not constrained by time. So while we may think that God must have been idling all those while, that is because we are trapped in this concept of time. It is hard to explain, but scientist will tell you that TIME had a beginning.
I believe that God wants to have fellowship with man. That's all He wants. Not that he needs it as if He was lonely but that he felt it good to share what He has with man.
The only problem is that man did not want this fellowship, just very much like our parents want the best for us, but we do not appreciate it.
In the future... well, I think of it this way. We all hope to enter heaven, one way or another. Heaven is God's house. Those who are clean may enter. Those who are dirty (the bible says with sin) cannot expect to enter. Which to me is fair, because I would not allow a person dirty with mud and smell entering my house too. lol

God wasn't always there - he didn't exist before there was a human imagination for him to exist in. His purpose is to satisfy human emotional needs, such as the wish to believe that death is not the end, the wish to believe that there is a father figure 'up there' who just might help out in life if we only pray / worship / believe the right thing, and so on.

God is learning.
The Bible says we were created in God's image. What this means to me is, God once existed in flesh and blood. He learned and grew like people have learned and evolved. God is learned about himself and his history through us.
God is pure energy. If you cut matter down to its core you would find pure energy. Energy can never be destroyed and does not obey they laws of physics. Energy can do what ever it wants. The Big Bang was an explosion of pure energy. Which latter became all that we see and all we don't in the universe. God is that energy, and God is all things.
This is a giant science experiment.

God is never in the past tense, but is always in the eternal NOW. Time is something that he has created for man. God has no need of time because he is eternal. His purpose is creator and sustainer. He has always been because there can be no void---a state of nothingness cannot exist.

Maybe a couple of seconds before the beginning of the creation was the beginning of eternity.
I don't buy into any of that nonsense, but that's how I would rationalize it if I did.

because He is the Creator, and we are merely a part of His creation, created ultimately to be in harmony with him.

The Bible doens't tell us that. Perhaps it is because He doesn't think we need to know?
You'd have to take it up with Him.
