That was the intention of my last question titled 'Why Does God allow suffering' etc. James answered the question fairly well...I'd say I'd have to agree with him. Mostly all of you posted some very good answers. Thank you. I appreciate your input very much. I hope someone may benefit from your wonderful answers.

I ask sometimes to see what other people think and feel about something, even though I already know the answer. Well the answer according to my religion.

If your motives are to generate conversation great. But why ask questions you already know? It seems almost a form of manipulation in that you can provoke people to anger for taking the time to respond to someone who already has a judgmental attitude? If you are a Christian... what makes your attitude any different that the atheists here like Jim Darwin?

No I don't know the answer to the questons I ask, but I could do a web search to find the answers. By asking I get different peoples opinions and some really good ideas.

I always suspect people of asking opinion questions that they are already completely decided on just so they can stir a debate.

I have never done this, mainly cause I like facts and try to steer clear of other people's opinions.

I would think 99 % of the questions people ask on here, they already know the answer too, or there is no correct answer anyway.

i don't like asking questions, so no , but i do like answering and looking at what others write because it gives you a totally different view on on a subject. it can also be quite amusing
