Because the Terrorist nutcase ones have been attracting more attention than the moderate ones......... I guess a bit like when someone says "cola", and you immediately think of heavily plugged Coca Cola & Pepsi products ahead of, say a supermarket own brand..... or "Panda Pops" or "Fentimans curiousity Cola", for instance.

Humans are essentially lazy beings. Their laziness is at its height of glory when it comes to thinking. Of course there is a survival mechanism in that. By putting everything in neat compartments, life becomes more bearable. Hence, prejudice is born. Without it, humans have to analyze each and every incident seperately and uniquely. Thats tiring!! Prejudice (this is actually a neutral psychological term) is the root of the issue. To remove prejudice, those who have that notion must constantly come across Muslims who are not like what is being depicted. Slowly but surely such perjudice can be removed. If you are a Muslim, you can play your part by showing others that the few terrorists that we read about do not represent the Muslims as a whole. Wish you the best.

We certainly should not blame all Muslims for the actions of a few, but nevertheless it is a fact that most of the terrorist acts in the world nowadays are committed by Muslims. It would be disingenuous to think that there was no significance in that fact. We don't have to conclude that therefore all Muslims are terrorists, but it's not unreasonable to argue that there must be something in Islam which makes it a particularly fertile ground for the inculcation of the terrorist mindset. We need to identify what that is, and what can be done to change it.

Probably because they are the only race of terrorist that preach Genocide. The KKK are bad, but they don't go around planning foreign attacks on African nations because they are black. The Black panthers don't go around trying to bomb Moose lodges or anything like that. Muslim terrorist are the only ones that take it to that large of a scale, and it scares people. I realize not all muslims are terrorist, but until the Muslims unite as a whole and eliminate the threat themselves, can you blame people for being scared? Just like we punish hate crimes in the United States all the Arabic Nations need to punish them too. There's no evidence of this happening yet which tends to make people group you as a whole. If muslims want to be viewed as true muslims, then Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia... need to start excuting muslim terrorists on live TV.
PS I don't feel this way. My uncle is from Lebanon.

Muslims also are not quick to condemn terrorist attacks. They are quick to condemn cartoons however. Also some very famous terrorist organizations receive direct aid from Muslim governments (Hezbollah is supplied by Iran, Hamas is supplied by Syria). This gives the appearance that the entire COUNTRY supports terrorism. Muslims will be continually stereotyped as terrorists until the Moderate Muslims stand up to the extremists and stop letting them Hijack their religion.

its true that muslims all over are seen as terrorists just because a handful of them act insane. this is not right and should not happen. I have deep respect for the faith of islam and wonder why such a beautiful religion is being allowed to be used as a shield by the terrorists by the majority of the muslims who are not terorists.
one question which perplexex me is this...
All muslims are not terrorists, but why every terrorist is a muslim?? (read this question in terms to India)

Any form of fundamentalism is dangerous as this spreads intolerance, be it any religion. It is saddening that one faction's interpretation of their religion is more hard line than those who follow it peacefully. This leads to sectarianism and racism when the more militant members are involved in terrorist activities. As a result the whole religion is tainted. People should not subject muslims to any form of abuse just by the actions of a few.

Because the majority of Muslims aren't speaking out against the terrorists and it is being perceived as tact approval of their actions. If they are a minority trying to corrupt the religion, why isn't the majority condemning them? And it's not racism or racial profiling or being narrow-minded. And yes many people are quick to judge, especially when the other people keep saying there want to kill you and they target children. The majority of Muslins need to speak out against the kidnappings, the beheadings and suicide bombings.

Partly Muslims are to blame for not fighting this stereotype, being too naive they do not understand how they are being cast and then hammered.
The propaganda is so strong that if you see an open-minded Muslim people are actually surprised! Among Muslims are all shades of opinions that are there among other people. It is just the matter of visiblity and what you are made to see or want to see.

No one should judge an entire race, religion, nationality, etc. based on the actions of a small number. Unfortunately, a philosophy of radical Islam has "hijacked" that religion and is causing what appears to be the large majority of terrorist attacks worldwide. We have to battle these people and their sick ideology, not the whole religion. Like we fought the Nazis - it's the ideology of this small group.

Cultural differences.. maybe the silence of other muslims in the world when your killing off each other. Maybe it's because the popularity of those head sawing videos? A big seller in the arab world. Maybe it's the double standard, riot and kill over a cartoon but when a ice cream parlor in isreal gets blown up that's considered a event to celebrate.or maybe it's because on 9/11 arabs danced in the streets for joy...
