Hun if your just going on holiday do you not need a visa however if you plan to go for more than 4 weeks then yes you do...and as for a criminal record from when you were younger (under age of 18) then no there will be no problem..its classed as you were a minor..but if you want to live there then they will check your record to see what you had done minor or other wise....if however if you were over 18 then that is a different matter and i do not know about this......i would ring your nearest police station and ask them as they will be able to tell you how to go about solving this issue you have

A visa is advisable but not a necessity. As long as you have an address to which you are staying and a return flight ticket you should be fine. I went over about 7 years ago to visit my boyfriend who was working over there during the summer, I didn't have a visa and didn't have an address where I was staying, they took me to one side and said I needed these details but in the end they let me in because I had a return ticket for 2 weeks later which showed I wasn't staying. A visa is a more secure route to stop the embarrassment when you get there. As for criminal convictions, I'm not sure, but I wouldn't have thought they'd stop you entering.

It depends on what type of passport you have. If you have the new style electronic passport then you dont need a visa. If your signature was electronically on the passport (ie you didnt sign it) then you dont need a visa.

I visited NYC last year and have an electronic passport so didnt need a visa

If you go on google and type in New York Tourist board it will tell you what you need to have and not have to visit.
