Sone are above board and just offer this, but others (perhaps the majority?) are a front for sexual services. The escort either offers sex at the end of the evening, or indeed sex is all that is offered. Usually the companies have a disclaimer that all you are buying is time, anything else that happens is an independent arrangement between two consenting adults, so that they cannot be done for pimping.
