The spoon to the right of the knife is for the soup (if you are having soup that is) the spoon going across the top is for the Desert (if you are having one that is).

NO! I don't set the table, I don't believe in setting the table. If you want to set the table and wash all of those unnecessary dishes, then by all means, knock yourself out. I prefer paper plates.

It's for scooping up your gravy or sauce left over from your meal that you can't pick up with your fork. Or soup or desert
