Before you start to train your pigeon, let it fly around your house for a wild. Than you start to take them out for training.First about a mile away two or three times. Then 3 miles the same, and you just keep o0n going from there. I have homing pigeons and I had them as far as 600 miles, that is when they race. The races go from 100 to 600 miles. That old birds. The young birds only go up to 300 miles. If you have racing pigeons you will have allot of fun with them. Just be good to them and they will come home.

All pigeons can not be trained for this purpose. There is a special breed for this known as homers. However for new pigeons it is suggegested that you wet them throughly and and let them dry their feathers on the palce where you want them to come back at last light. Pigeons generally make it their resting place where they dry their feathers

Once they've been kept in a place for a while, if they think of it as home they will return to it when released. Start with short training flights and gradually increase the distance you release them from.

Be sure they have been flying around the house so they're familiar with the area and they also have enough muscle to make the flight.
