God was not happy that Solomon did not follow his commands not to marry outside of Israel - and it was the 99 wives and 600 concubines who were not of Israel that led Solomon astray and into idolatry, which was the downfall of his kingdom. So, had your studies been complete, you would have been able to answer why Christianity recognizes a need for only one wife and one husband to make a marriage and why they should be of same ethnicity, faith, and have family that approves of both parties - otherwise, there is heartache and hardship for generations to come.

You apparently didn't read the part where God punished Solomon for having 100 wives. And it wasn't 100 wives, the book of 1 Kings chapter 11 says he had over 700 wives:
1 Kings 11:3-9 - "And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart. And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, . And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD."

In the beginning, it was allowed to have many wife, why? Because they were not so much many people!
A male can reproduce more quicker that a female. So in old day to ensure that population will go on, men usually could have several wives, but usually those men with several wives were very very rich men, you have to maintain them all the same, gave all of them time, money etc. And in the law you could divorce, but I don't think it was a law to have several wives either.
Paul say in his letter, that man should have one wife, to treat them and respect them, they couldn't be man of many woman!
Still I have some Muslim friends, were polygamy is allow, and they have told me that one woman is enough!

If you believe what the Bible says that Jesus said, here is a thought: Jesus is quoted as saying that he did not come to destroy the law (of Moses) or the prophets, but to fulfill them... then he was quoted later as saying that (in reference to marriage) the TWO shall be one... kind of like the blind man who needed a second shot of Jesus healing powers... Moses had the man-uniting-with-woman part right (unlike certain of our contempories), but he just had the number of wives wrong.... so Jesus set the record straight when He came, in the before quoted statement... "the two shall be one"

Jesus is Jesus, Moses is Moses, Solomon is Solomon. Christianity however is a RELIGION created by MAN and therefore Christian laws are man-made laws and not neccesary divine.

those who had many wives back in the bible days, it was to more support them than any thing else, all wemon wanted a child, the believed it meant salvation, but it was very hard to survive back in those days, the more a man supported, the more he had to support with. More explained in N. T. than O. T.

There are some that do. (Mormons don't do that anymore. I should no, I am one.) Jesus didin't change Moses' law, it was fulfilled when he was crucified. That's why Christians don't sacrifice animals today (do Jews? and if not, why not?)

consider this, most men have a hard time remembering all the
important events with just one woman in their life.fess up,how
many times have had your girlfriend (or wife) angry at you for not
remembering anniversaries or birthdays or valentine's day?
"what?!?no flowers,no chocolates,no jewelry?"try to imagine
that multiplied by 100,what a nightmare!don't forget alimony,
they would drain you of every cent and garnish your wages.
i'm thankful for monogamy!!!!
