I got a seat belt ticked a few years ago. I sent in the payment and it must have gotten lost. I got pulled over and was ticketed for driving while suspended. Not I have a driving while suspended on my record all because of not paying a $25.00 ticket. I live in Indiana.

Go to your local DMV and get an abstract of your driving record. If there is something on there you don't understand, see a lawyer.

The only other way to clean up your record is to not get tickets, and let time run 3-5 years.

Worse case depending on the judge. Get your DL Active and show it to them. Most cases they will drop the Driving on a Suspended to a unlicensed driving ticket which is basically a fix it ticket.

When you go into court on the "driving while suspended" ticket, take along your canceled check proving you paid the other, or if you paid by money order your receipt for that. If you can't show proof you paid it, you didn't and you can't clean it up.

How did you pay your ticket?

Check- why, oh, WHY didn't you call the DMV when the check didn't clear? or did it? If you still have records, or that account is still open, call the bank and get a certified copy of the check- front AND back! That will verify that it was cashed and by whom. Take the copy with you to court...

Money order- dunno what to tell you there... you may be able to call the company that you got the MO from....

Did you ever get anything in the mail about re-instating your license?
