Well, I think you know from the Bible that God is the creator of all things. He made the whole universe in which the latest estimations say there are about 125 thousand million galaxies, though new galaxies are discovered everyday. Each galaxy has thousands of millions stars. So when you start thinking about how huge the universe is, it's normal to start wondering if we're the only ones in it.

If you read 1 Corinthians 4:9, you'll see Paul speaking about the apostles being "made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men". Up to here already, the Bible declares that humans are not the only living creatures in the universe. There are angels among us who --of course-- are not humans.

You may read also Job 1:6; 38:7,8; Dan. 9:21; Acts 12:7; 1 Cor. 4:9; Ephesians 3:10; Heb. 13:2

Personally, I believe (from the Bible and other resources which, if commented right now, would make this answer even longer) there are other worlds in the universe since God is a God who loves creating. However, I'm sure those beings are not like the ones portrayed in the movies. Just like Adam and Eve, they were also made in the image of God; the only diference is that, unlike Adam and Eve, they did not joined in Satan's rebellion. Probably, Satan tried to make them sin just as well as he did with the first human beings, but he didn't succeed.

(Read Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:12-19; Revelation 12: 7-13; and Genesis 3 to learn more about Satan's rebellion, and how he made Adam and Eve sin).

So the battle started in Heaven, moved in to the Earth, and now those perfect beings who never sinned have seen in our world what Satan could have made of the whole universe if he were allowed to govern. And now they're just waiting for Jesus to step in and save the ones who accepted to be saved (John 3:16; Revelation 22:20).

Good question, hope I helped. God bless!

You have several assumptions in your question:

a) You state that "every" religion states that man is God's best creation. I don't think that "every" religion takes a stand on that.

b) You assume that even if a religion did take a stand on this, that it excludes the idea of alien life. You also assume that all aliens would be "better" than humans, and that the benchmark for the comparison would be intelligence and technical knowhow.

c) You assume that everyone believes in a religion (many do not) and that the people who do interpret their religion literally (many do not).

Since your question is more about belief than about the value of a religious pronouncement on the subject of man's value or a scientific analysis of the possibility of alien life, I won't comment on those.

I would suggest that there are a lot of people who think there's a possibility of alien life because they either don't believe in a religion, or because they don't believe everything about their religion, and that they are persuaded by a number of scientific arguments that alien life is likely.

yes they may be smarter than us but that do not make them better, or the best if you look at nature there are a lot of animals that are stronger than us but we are the rulers of this planet, or the angels for example they must be smarter than us more beautiful etc etc

Is it so impossible to believe that there is life elsewhere?

Out of all the millions of stars and galaxies that ours is the only one that possesses life?
