Right on! There have been more people killed "in the name of god" then for any other reason!!! It is the "my god is better than your god...now lets fight over it" mentality that has killed so many people. Plus back in the day, if the christian missionaries could not willingly convert people, they killed them.....just for believing differently than they did! christianity has a very violent, aggresive, bloody past (and present).

People are to blame, not the faith. How can you expect anyone to be perfect? Are you perfect?
It isn't that I disagree with you, I just feel that you're putting blame in the wrong place. If a person is truly following Christ's teachings, they will not "kill" in his name. That is murder, however you want to look at it, which is a SIN.
On the other hand, if a person serves in a war for their country, as military, that's honorable, because the Bible says to serve your country if that's what they ask of you.

faith in Christ has not caused these deaths, evil actions freely committed by evil people caused them...don't you get it? can you not grasp that simple a concept...namely, that people can CLAIM any manner of excuses for the evil things they do, but there is a HUGE difference between an excuse and a reason...someone could kill a million people and say "i did it to advance the cause of dark toast over light toast, but THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT THE FAULT OF LIGHT or DARK TOAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it amazes me, in this supposedly 'enlightened' age, people are STILL falling for that old tired chestnut...i need to get into the bridge selling business...people are such suckers sometimes...

Unfortunately, all religions seem to have an irresistible appeal to psychos and loonies - that's because all religions are essentially irrational so you can therefore justify anything, no matter how grotesque, absurd or inhuman, in the name of whatever irrational religion you happen believe in.

Sad to say that the people did what they thought was right but actually they were killing God's creation and I believe that it actually grieved God.
God's heart is for the people,His creation.

Jesus commanded his followers to love each other, to love their neighbors, and to love their enemies. He never taught anything contrary to this message.
When they came to take Jesus away to kill him, his friends tried to protect him. Jesus told his friends to put away their swords, rebuked them for using violence to defend him, and even healed one of the people sent to take him away.
I'd like to see an athiest or muslim do that.
No my friends, you can not find anyone killing FOR Jesus, because Jesus has not commissioned anyone to kill on his behalf. Jesus did commission his people to preach the gospel, but never to kill.
No follower of Jesus kills for him, and everyone who has read the teachings of Jesus knows this. Only those who hate ... hate Christians ... hate other people ... hate themselves ... have a problem with Jesus, for he taught us to love each other, to love our neighbor, and to love our enemies. Who could have a problem with that, and who could possibly misinterpret that? Only those who want no part of what Jesus taught or stood for.
Jesus taught us to love. It is very difficult to kill someone you love. It is obvious that the person who wrote this question has much hate for followers of Jesus. It is very easy to kill someone whom you hate.
Ask yourself this: Do you want to live in a world full of people who love, or a world full of people who hate? Do you want to live in a world full of people who hate one who commands people to love each other, and if so, why?
