If you do not receive a W2, the IRS suggest you estimate the information and file anyway. Then you amend the returns when the data is made available.
If you live in a Hurricane katrina or Rita area, the deadlines were extended to October 15 for last year and this year.

File the return now. You will have to pay a penalty for late filing, probably $100. But file now. If this happens again, you can file your return without the W2, by using a Substitute W2 form and the information from your last paystub. Always keep paystubs, they come in handy in tax situations.
Good luck!

you should record returns for those tax years and also you should do so today. you could't upload that earnings on your 2006 go back, you should record the 2004 and 2005 returns one by one. once you've refunds coming from both years there is purely no longer any late filing consequences. in case you do owe there'll be consequences and interest due for late filing and late charge of the tax. for that reason you should record those returns as immediately as plausible to diminish any consequences.

Your W2, by law, had to be in the mail and postmarked by January 31st. Therefore, I don't think the IRS is going to want to hear your story. You need to find a good accountant or tax lawyer and get this worked out.

It's no problem unless you are going to owe money.....
If you are going to break even, then wait till next year if you want to. Otherwise file now.
