If you are old enough to be a mother then Learn to live with the mess or clean it yourself. you are bringing a baby into HER home. She is stressed enough I am guessing. Many women even when they are pregnant have housework, etc. that they have to do and maintain. Kidney infections are bad but treated easily... dont use that as an excuse not to clean. Look at it this way. She is like the man of the house (the old fashioned kind) She goes to work and does her thing and then comes home and expects not to have to do anything there. You are the housewife.

Just guessing.

well, i am not mom but i learned from my Dad how he manage his house and work place super clean. it is no different than having a system. clean by design & allocation the best way to learn it is go to Marriott hotel and open the middle drawer where there is a bible, and read the book next to it. And ask Marriott to have a copy, it is the great book i've read about having the recipe for everything. Marriott had the same problem you did, so what they notice was devil is in the details you missed. so get your details clear and precise in a card, and make a check list like all the plan takes off. and most of the time it is hard to organize your mind before the house, so look at how Buzan use to organize his mind. His system show how you can get stuck without you knowing it. your mind has a certain way to keep it organize, and when you follow the simplicity. It will work for you Enjoy I hope this helps

u got friends that could help you out? Maybe you could slowly clean up little bits at a time...the kitchen is always a good place to start. And make sure that wherever the baby will be sleeping it clean too!

sounds like my mom (minus the cigerattes) she'll "clean" with cleaning products, you know, wash the floor, vaccum etc. But the real mess the "cleaning" she don't understand is organizing things and puttin them away or THROWING THINGS OUT drives me nuts. I only got worst since I moved out and I'm not there to sort it out everyday. now her new thing is buying furniture she doesn't need and you can't move in the house cause there just too much big stuff.

your in a tough situation but your mother is giving you a place to stay and inviting in your child. If she's fine with it that way-she shouldnt have to clean it.If I was in your situation I'd be showing my gratitude by taking care of the house, since your sick you should just clean yourself a corner.I went through this visiting my mom after years with my new baby...I hated going to her filthy house...her and my dad are sick and have lots of animals..I want to be with them so I clean while my mom and daughter play

Tell her the grandchild needs a clean environment or it'll be at risk to many infections and could die. Cleanliness is very important. Even while you're pregnant you should be safe in a clean home.

And tell her to quit smoking while you're being bossy ;D

there are 2 ways to look at your mom: she's really lazy or she's really depressed. try sitting down to talk to her. tell her how you feel, but not just about the house. everything. sounds like there's no communication between the two of you. if all else fails, call dr. phil.

It sounds like you mum is depressed. There are two options one; move out and find a place on your own or two; clean the house yourself.
