Please ignore the naysayers; your question has a very simple and verifiable answer.

If you were last exposed to hepatitis B 6 weeks ago: testing now may be too early, since it may take 9 weeks for the HBsAg to turn positive. But, it could be positive- on average, this test is positive 4 weeks after exposure in people who get the disease. The test might now also tell you if you had hepatitis B long ago, or were successfully vaccinated against it. Bottom liine: get tested now, if its inconclusive, get retested later.

If you were last exposed to hepatitis A 6 weeks ago you will almost certainly be able to have a relable serological test now to tell if you contracted disease or had infection or immunization long ago. Bottom line: get tested now.

If you were last exposed to hepatitis C 6 weeks ago it may be too early for a serology test to telll if you have been infected, but not necessarily: 10% of people who will develop hep C will still test negative at 3 months after infection, so there will probably have to be a retest if the first test is negative. But- your doctor may have access to a "PCR" test which will be reliable now- this detects the virus nucleic acids and is positive only 1-2 weeks following infection. Bottom line: get tested now, and get a repeat test if its negative.

there are many caustive organisms to hepatitis. every one of them has different incubation period and window period. During window period virus ab will not be tested positive. and during incubtion period usual tests of hepatitis ( liver function will not be positive) so it depends on the incubation period to get thetest positive. Read the references. you will come to know incubation period
