A hypocrite says one thing and then does another. I don't know; because I don't know what it feels like to be first one way and then not another...but don't confuse "changing your mind"...learning something you didn't know before...or not hurting someone by sparing them the truth...(as long as it isn't something they truly need to know) with hypocrisy. Everyone has an opinion...I don't care who you are...and not all people are going to agree with it...so you have to be who you are...whatever that may be...and be as honest about it as possible.

Outside of any religion, people are hypocritical. Don't judge. You're a hypocrite too.

It's like this:
You have an ideology (religious or political usually).
Everything you do and say is first and foremost done to support your ideology and not to understand the truth. Conflicting ideas/actions don't matter since you have decided the ideology is of utmost importance and an ideologue can pretty much make anything support their ideas. Even total and obvious hypocrisy. It is more important that they are *right* in their mind about their ideology.
