All hospitals and clinics have different regulations when it comes to how long they have to keep medical records on siteit can be 2 years or 5 years. I used to work for the VA Hospital and we kept them on our shelves for 3 years after last activity. After that, we sent them to storage. Since it is a Veterans hospital and medical records meant alot more, we kept them in storgage forever. If the facility you are at does not have them on site, them may have them stored somewhere at a different location.
