No I don't think that is too much at all. We're planning on going to Italy and will be spending around $10,000 (if we're lucky) But 6,800 in Tahiti, that's pretty good. I've always wanted to go there, those bungalows look like SO much fun. My fiance isn't a beachy kind of guy but I'll get him there someday soon. =)

I think it's alot but I have no interest in Tahiti, if you were talking about a Mediterranean cruise I would think it's not enough. You say it won't put you into debt so I say you're good to go. Although I will say that if you aren't an experienced traveler you might not want to go somewhere so exotic on your honeymoon. Your honeymoon is supposed to be a time to relax. You don't want to have to deal with a totally alien culture, language and money when you're trying to chill out, unless it's something you've done before and don't mind. Also something else to think about are bugs. We went to St John for our honeymoon and 10th anniversary and I got eaten alive both times. I don't know how Tahiti is with wildlife, but it's something to consider. Good luck and have a good trip.

Good Golly I wanna go on that honeymoon with ya!!lol..I think it's a lot of money, I didn't have one, we just came home, took the kids to grandma's and had the greatest time at home with just the two of us. Both of us had been married before, so we just wanted to be together, no need to go get in debt on going somewhere besides a hotel right close to home. Congrats on the wedding

going in debt for a honeymoon is too much.
6,8000 doesnt put much of a payment on a house or somthing you might really really need
if you work alot and you need a break, then go because life is about experiences and not about having more inked paper or stuff that looks like you have alot of inked paper.

For that kind of vacation it's ok but you need to be sure whether it includes airfare meals and drinks, if it does not you need to take that into account because 3 meals a day for 2 plus drinks can add up over $1,000 dollars, not to mention the spending money you are going to want to take, and emergency cash if something should go wrong. However if you can afford it go for it!

No, not if you have it in cash to spend, and don't need it to spend on other expenses. Now, if you're going into debt and putting it on a credit card, then yes, it's too much money to spend.

I think it's a bit much! aim for your future and your marriage ... not the immediate. Go for a honeymoon...but can you do it without putting yourself in debt?

Uhh...yeah. But it depends on if you're rich or not. If you are, go for it. If you're not, re-think it. You can get all-inclusive trips to mexico for $1500......

If you can afford it, then go for it. I would love to go exactly where you're going. You will remember that forever. I am so jealous :)
