I was streching my back/neck last week and since then whenever I lay down a few seconds later the room spins for about 5-10 seconds and the same thing when I get up. It was really bad a few days ago but has seemed to almost go away, what would cause this? I am guessing it had to do with my back/neck.

There are a lot of reasons that could be causing this phenomenon. You could have cervical/ neck problems, thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS), or maybe you are just laying down with to much pillow. The first two conditions you need to go to a doctor and possibly get an X-ray, EMG or MRI to see if there are nerve compressions or vertebrae mechanical dysfunction. The pillow item, is that you need to make sure that when you lay down that your forehead and chin are level. This means that your forehead should not be higher then your chin and vice versa. The question I have is how old are you and do you have diabetes?

could be miners disease, the doctors test it by putting you on a ..slant table and sticking cold water /warm water in your ears....go see a..... ear, nose and throat doctor.

all so a chiropractor may help, maybe you pinched a nerve in you neck, and a spinal adjustment may correct it.

all so can be caused by blood pressure,

you have semi--circular tubes in your inner ear, one forward and one to the side these control your balance

all so infections can get into your ears

there are a lot of acupuncture/acupressure points in your ears for balance.

find out about ...miners

Either that or ear infection or middle ear damage. Have you been exposed to loud noises such as a rock concert or industrial noises? How is your blood pressure? It could mean that you neck is out of alignment please see your doctor and let us know that is was.
