Whenever my kitten is sleeping, she spazzes big time. She'll meow like a freak, shake her little kitty legs, jerk around, wake up violently, and flick her ears a lot. Is she having crazy kitten dreams, or is there something wrong with her? My adult cat never does this, nor did she when she was a baby kitty.

She is having kitty dreams! She is chasing bunnies, birdies and butterflies in her sleep! I have had dozens of cats in my life (dogs too) and they have all done it!

Sometimes they wake up and look at you all crazy like YOU did something!

She is having a nightmare dont worry just gently pet her when she is doing this and she will calm down and when she wakes up and see's you petting her she will be very happy with you. My cat had bad dreams all the time when i first got him and now he is a happy kitty because i did this.

She's probably just dreaming, not to worry! I have a chartreux cat. He also twitches in his sleep sometimes. When this happens, i start cuddling him gently whispering soft, shushy sounds. It helps! But if it happens all the time, it wouldn't hurt to talk to your vet.

I have 2 kittens --one does the exact same thing. She is having a lucid dream! It is quite normal, but if she does it when shes awake, twitches and sorts, please take it to the Vet, it could be having a seizure

I have a Blue Russian Mix adult female cat and she does this.

I think maybe their dreaming and twitching because of it.

Its called R.E.M. sleep, and every mammal experiences it. That phase is when one is in their deepest sleep, and when they dream. Your kitty is fine....it's only when she starts twitching while awake that you have a problem.
