My husband says that his untit in the National guards cant get sent anywhere unless it has a certain amount of people in it. Is this true?

I was a filler for a company that went to Iraq. They were short so I got orders. Aint it funny how that works?

Charles is correct. This is called "back filling". Once a unit is called for deployment, a call for volunteers from other units will go out to ensure that the unit is at 95% mission ready. Please note that mission ready also involves equipment, so there would be a LOT of shuffling around. Nobody likes to do this, so the military usually designates those units that are the most mission ready.

That's true, but other people can be sent to his unit so they CAN have enough people to go overseas.
