I got a ticket for a rolling stop sign (he wrote that i was going 10 mph) and I was wondering if the motorcycle cops have video cammeras on their bikes, and if so will they use them in court? Also, what do you think the ticket will cost me?

I am 17, this is my first violation, and there were no cars around me whatsoever. The cop was hiding behind some construction vehicles.

If you broke the law, don't be a weasel about it.

Not all do, but many do indeed. They DO however have digital cameras that photograph your car and the speed your are clocked at. As for real-time video, it's becoming more common than not. Also, there IS an audio recording of every traffic stop in more than 95% of the jurisdictions nationwide. Also, you are NOT likely to get out of this ticket. The ticket will cost you about $180.

No, don't listen to these buffoons. Motorcycle cops do not have cameras on their bikes. Cameras are only in cars where they can store the video equipment under lock and key so the cop has no access to it for editing.

Fight your ticket. Make them prove you broke the law. That is how the system works. They make it real easy for you to pay, but real hard for you to keep coming back to court for appearances. They expect the average shmuck has to work and can't defend himself. Use the court system. Make them prove you broke the law. It is their burden.

Request a motion for discovery if you are in doubt about the camera evidence. You are entitled to review all evidence the cop has on you.

They won't have to use it as evidence. The judge will always take the officers word. Rolling through a stop sign will give you points and your insurance rate will increase. You will have the option for traffic school to take away the points. Drive safe! ha

most likely, he does not have a camera, but in some instances, they do, to tape the progress of their actions. they might use them in court if you decide to contest the ticket. the fine i think would probably be something like 25 dollars...nothing to worry about
