I had a boyfriend for so long that now that I'm single I don't know where to meet guys!! I mean, I do meet guys all the time, at the mall, in bars and restaurants, clubs... but they're not exactly the type of people I would consider dating. but where else can you meet someone your type once you're done with college/university?

Wait for the right time ... here goes an adage....Before the right time and above your capability nothing could occur/happen.
This implies to any thing, any where.... but yes, keep on looking at ur soul mate/BF, ur effort should not slow down in pace.

Well, Think.If you want a relationship irl, then say to yourself.. If i were a guy, where would i go? A bascketball game?Arcade?.. Mall? I'm not really sure, but if you live near a coast line, go to the beach. (I do doubt you live close enough to a *warm* beach though...) Good Luck on Guy-Hunting!
