Can you git one of those cards for a laptop that gives it wireless internet access without a business? Can you get one just to study at college or is it only for businesses to communicate.

You can get a PC Wireless Card at most computer supply stores. It will enable you to connect to any wireless network. For some you will need a password.
Like, if you go to a cafe or library that has free wireless internet, you can just connect with it. In a cafe, or other places, you may need a password, which they supply when you order something.
Other places you have to connect through a business, like sprint.
