For all of you that agree with David T, sure, it's great to blame a nameless evil big "corporation" to avoid responsibility, but everytime you consume produce picked by Mexicans, or eat at fast food joints staffed with Mexicans you are creating the demand for cheap labor.

The tough immmigration policy imposed in Mexico that has made the counry lost the respect that it always have around Latin America, is because of the current spineless government that is happy to do the dirty job for America, to avoid those salvadorians to reach the US.

Both. America loves anything cheap. The less you pay for something, the better.Always out for the bargain. Thats why Wal-Mart does such good business, cause they claim to have lower prices. And thats why american employers love illegal immigrants. They can abuse the system that way. Good for them , but really unfair to the illegal people working for them. Thankfully now many illegals have gained tax id#s and can get back all their tax money they have paid in.But if they get hurt at work, well sorry for them.No workmans comp. benefits or disability will cover illegals. And employers know this and use it to their advantage. True , it means more jobs available for illegals , but at unfair standards. The economy benefits the most from the deal.

Now,onto hatred.Thankfully, all americans don't feel that way. There are good people here that although don't agree with me,still don't resort to racism and name calling. The other portion of americans hate anything they don't understand. And thats so sad because they are just limiting themselves.America is a wonderful country made of many races and religions. For people who have grown up here to act like that is dispicable. What did the mexican race ever do to them? Some don't even know a single mexican person. They only know what they've heard from others, probably family members or friends.

Why can't we,as americans, come up with some happy medium? No one is going to ever be completely happy with whatever our "great" country decides. But I doubt they will willingly throw away all the money they save by hiring illegal immigrants.Maybe they will find a way to reduce INS fees and change enough laws for the illegals here to get their naturalization.Who knows? But whatever happens, this racist stuff should stop.If illegal mexicans are sent back ,then who are the racists gonna pick on?They'll find someone, thats for sure.

Neither. Illegal immigration issues have nothing to do with racism. First and foremost, Mexicans are NOT a race, they are a nationality. Second, we are a country of laws. This is in sharp contrast to Mexico where they are a nation of corruption. They are not and have never been an ally of the United States. I grow tired of politicians trying to paint them as such.

I am 1/4 Mexican of proud heritage. My lineage was born here before California was a state. My other lineages came here through legal means. We cannot allow just anyone to come here when they choose. To do so spits in the face of the millions of people who choose to wait their turn.

As far as cheap labor - think again. Cheap labor comes at a price. When an illegal alien gets hurt, who do you think pays for their medical care? The taxpayers. We need to come down hard on employers who either knowingly, or through feigning ignorance, employ illegal workers. Perhaps a $10K fine to start - jail time after that. If an illegal is caught of any nationality, DNA fingerprint them, and ban them from immigration for life. Provide an incentive for following the rules, and a strong disincentive for not.

I think we need a certain amount of workers for key jobs. Just like we allow H-1B's with high level degrees to come here to perform specific tasks for specific time periods, we can do the same for not only Mexican, but other countries workers who are willing to do some of the jobs that citizens are either unwilling, or unable to perform. After the job is done, then they go home with their earnings. Make the employing agency pay their health coverage as well.

Just my two.

Corporate greed but that can be changed. And the racism of Mexicans, not towards them, is greater. If Americans are so racist how the hell did they get here and be allowed to stay and work as long as they have? It's not like it is in Mexico where you go to jail for a minimum of 2 yrs for being and illegal alien. And where the army is on the southern border to stop illegal immigration from El Salvador and Nicaragua Can't have any low live Salvadorans mixing with LA RAZA now can we? So, tell me who are the racists?

I agree with everything you say. The only thing I would change is that I would have put the word illegal in front of Mexican and added scum behind it.
Racism and hate for illegal Mexican scum. yeah, that's better.

It is not Americans. You misquoted. It is the corporations greed and lust, not the majority of Americans.

YOU DON'T GET IT DO YOU -

WE THE PEOPLE ARE ULTIMATLEY OUR OWN LEADERS, NOT YOU!!

our system requires that money be the final 'decider'

not that that is a bad thing,

the government should act on imagration to protect those who seek to carry out their business fairly.
