I own some games that require the CD to play it, specifically, Return of the King, Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth, The Sims 1 and all extensions, The Sims 2.

How can I play them without the CD? (I have a laptop and 1) don't like having to take the CD's with me everywhere I go and 2) don't like using the CD drive all the time.

If I find a crack to do this, is it still illegal, even though I DO own the programs, purchased legally and all that?

Thanks for input!

Most PC games have built in copy protections, therefore it's very hard to make any duplicates. But you can make virtual disks of your games. You need the software called Alcohol 120% to create disk images of your games to your hard drive. Once you have the disk images on your hard drive, you don't need the physical disks to play the games anymore.

I would like to know this too, I have The Sims and Sims 2, and i find it really annoying to keep putting the disks in.

y would it be illegal if u owned the games? u could try and fit them on a flash drive, though i dont think they make ones big enough yet, but u could try.
