Watermelon. Definitely.

If you're searching for a ripe watermelon, start by looking at the light-colored spot where it was resting on the ground. If it's still yellow, it's not quite ripe yet.

If the light colored spot is almost whitish, then it's getting ripe. Pick it up and gently slap the side of it with an open palm. If it makes an echoing sound and you feel it reverberating a bit in your hands, it's ready to eat and you won't be dissappointed.

If you slap a watermelon with a white bottom and it doesn't echo or vibrate just a bit, it's probably been dropped and won't taste quite so crisp. It'll be a little mushy.

A good ripe honeydew beats a watermelon anyday.
