I had one. I think the best description is a Japanese Buick. It was a nice car but not inspiring. I was as reliable as any other car I owned - It had a few problems that the dealer fixed.

The one thing I really disliked about was the ground clearance. It did not have much. And some places I went it would bottom out.

The Camry is not a bad choice. But what do you want in a car? Will you be going places where the roads are not well maintained? Do want something with a certain look? What else are you considering?

If you have settled on the Camry and want to get one, go for it. It is a decent car.

1 plus is that toyotas will usually rust completely before their engines die on you.
Also, I believe all camrys today (camrys? Camries?) are hybrids. And I've learned that hybrids are great if you live in an area where you'e driving a lot on the highway, but really suck in the city.

do not USE BOSCH PLUGS IN A TOYOTA NGK or NIPPENDENSO! I artwork at a Toyota dealership's service dept. Bosch plugs do not artwork properly in eastern engines. Even the engineers cant tell me precisely why, yet I see a techniques too many autos with drivability complications the position the owner tells me they in basic terms positioned new plugs in and then a couple of minutes later the motor vehicle runs like crap. particular sufficient they have Bosch platinum's interior the engine. I pull them out, positioned the inventory plug in and difficulty solved.

I love driving my Camry. I've had it for a year and it drives so smoothly and it hasn't given me a single problem. I forget which model it is but it's one of the newer ones. Probably 2004.

the plus.... it's a reliable car and easy to repair, the minus, high parts value to a car thief. also easy to steal. take it from a former repo man.
