yes most diffinetely you can loos muscle mass because muscle is essentially water bound fibers. on induction, weight loss can vary with each person because technically you can stay on induction for up to six months - not recommended though because its very hard on your kidneys. in two to three weeks of induction you can plan on avg of lossing around 15 to 20lbs easily.

Your body is constantly being broken down for nutrients, both fat and muscle. If you don't eat enough then your body mass decreases. This is the central principle involved in any kind of weight loss. The amount of muscle you lose depends on how high your body fat percentage is. Unless you have really low body fat you probably will not lose a significant amount of muscle. It is always good to do some weight training to balance out calorie burning exercise, because a lot of aerobics can cause some muscle atrophe. Atkins is supposed to be designed for a minimal muscle loss because its a high protein diet. This is a misleading idea. Just because you are consuming higher percentage of protein doesn't necessarily mean you will lose less muscle. It depends more on your body fat percentage, calories consumed, and what type of workouts you are doing.

No matter what diet you are on you will lose mass. However, the Atkins diet spares more muscle than low fat or low calorie diets.

Homeopathic Treatment for Excessive Fat and Weight :-
PHYTOLACCA BERRY's Mother Tincture is perhaps the safest and sure fire way of loosing excessive fat around abdomen. With Phytolacca Berry once you loose the excessive fat and weight you don't get it back because you body takes care of itself after that and keeps you from gathering up excessive fat. It is prescribed after having a baby too, to get the tummy to loose its flab and to make it flatter and tighter. And after loosing weight with this you don't get flabby it tightens up the flab and skin along with helping your body to shed the excessive accumulation of fat around the girth
The dosage is 15 to 20 drops of the tincture in half a cup of hot water thrice a day half hour before or after meals.
Avoid Chocolates, Coffee, Mints, Red Meat and Carbonated and Alcoholic drinks while taking Homeopathic Medicines. You have to take it for at least 30 to 45 days after that you start to feel the results.
To the best of my knowledge its the safest and the most sure fire way of loosing fat and weight and keeping it of for keeps. Excellent remedy for Obese people who cant seem to shed weight despite trying.
Homeopathic Remedies can be found at all Major Herbal Stores or could be bought on line, In most of the world Homeopathic remedies are quite cheap and easy to find and they do not need a prescription.
Take care and God Bless !

The famous Dr. Atkins is dead. I assure you, I would not want to follow his lead.
You need carbs and proteins in your diet... period.
If you want to lose weight, cut down or illiminate pop, chips, fats, and sweets.
Read labels for goodness' sake!

You lose muscle mass any time you don't exercise and use that muscle.
Induction, do you mean induced vomiting? You can die from it if you really throw up enough nutrients.
