i only know that Christians has the Bible, and Muslims has the Quran. But, can a Christian read the Quran and can a Muslim read the Bible? also goes to the other religion in this world, like Buddhism, Hinduism, etc...can we read others? Will it change our faith by reading the words or phrase in it? Like, will the Christians converted to Muslim just by reading the Quran, or will the Muslims converted to Christians just by reading the Bible?

In my view we should read and learn about each other to gain a better understanding so we are more thoughtful of each other and agree to disagree in issues where we differ. An intelligent and curious person would read about all faiths and ideologies and make up his or her mind about choosing them or not choosing any of them.

The beauty of this World is its beautiful variety in all levels in all forms and shapes and ideologies. I can not imagine a monotonous grey World. We have been given a lot by the MOST HIGH to make the best of.

We can however live in peace if we realize we have a COMMON CREATOR!! We can also realize that we ourselves change as time goes by and we gain a deeper understanding of things. So, difference in views should never be the basis of fighting if you are a mature person.

However you can also conclude from mature analysis that some things can be better than others. What is good for you, you choose for yourself and let others decide what is good for them. Unless someone forces their views on you physically, you have neither the responsibility nor the right to force your views on anyone physically.

I hope we all learn more and more about each other and span humanity into one thriving entity that will live in peace with each other across the divides and enjoy the divides!! Amen.

Anyone is free to read any book in the free countries of the world. Whether it changes ur beliefs is entirely personal. While the bible is crucial for Christianity, it is the relationship with God that is offered through it's pages that is what being a Christian is all about. If u want a personal and relational God, then i can recommend Christianity, but I don't know about the others

You ask "can they read..." Certainly can. I have copies of the Bible, Qumran and many books on different religions. I can read them and do.
The sad thing is that some religions believe that their religious dogma is the only one that is important and people who do not agree should be killed. That is psychotic.
The world would be a lot more harmonious if we regularly read the religious texts of other religions.
To the best of my knowledge the only religion that recommends that practice is the Unitarian or Universalist. Though not a member, it is an interesting religion.

I read the Bible - and I am not christian
I read the Koran and I am not Muslim
It would be nice if everybody would know a little about different religions....so they would not be so judgmental and more acceptable

Yes you read other religion books. Scientist have reading them all this time! It's a good way to understand each other religion providing you take time to read all the pages and not being judgmental on the first page you read!

Smart people don't waste their time studying everything.

Proof: Those who make U.S. Currency spend years studying the real money, and they easily spot counterfeits.

Just because it doesn't fit your logic, doesn't mean you are right. But you would have known this if you studied "EVERYTHING" Earl D.

I do feel that it is good to know what other religions are about and get an understanding from their perspective. Is it necessary, no. Depends on your motive.

well, In Islam, Allah asked us to prove that Al-Quran is wrong. Allah asked us to prove that Allah words is wrong too..

So, in order to find proves, Allah asked us to gain and search for knowledge and try read other Holy books and compare Islam with other religion.

There is no force in religion, thus we ourselves should find and compare it and think who is the TRUE GOD..

Islam teach to know God through reason.

Anyway if u think ur religion is the truth.. so u wont be scared of losing faith just by reading other holy books and other religion.

Thats why God give us brain.. for us to think!!
