First, let's keep you with the living. If you're SERIOUSLY thinking of throwing away God's most precious gift, please visit this website ASAP! It's not going to preach to you or talk you out of it, but it might help you out. It's helped me more than once. I'm bipolar and sometimes no matter how rosy the world looks to other people, it seems that all I can see is a dark hole that gets deeper and deeper. Look into this website now, PLEASE! Right now, if nobody else in the world seems to give a crap about you, I do. That's why I'm taking the time to answer your question
http://www.metanoia.org/suicide/
It will only take about five minutes to read this webpage. So hang in there AT LEAST another 5 minutes will you please? If you've heard voices in your head, It doesn't mean you're absolutely past the point of no return crazy. My fifteen year old son had that problem as well, and with the proper counseling, they exist no more. As for being baptised, that would symbolize that you are ready to throw away your old life of sin and start anew by accepting the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ as your guide throughout the rest of your life, which by the way, I hope is a long, long time. I don't know how old you are, but there is sure to be a pastor or preacher or priest in you neighborhood that you can talk to about your problems and at least ease the burden by sharing those problems with those that would listen. Any man or woman of the cloth that truly believes in Christ will not turn you away. Even a Catholic priest should listen to your problems even if your are not Catholic, and especially if you have chosen no religious denomination whatsoever. I will pray for you. Oh, here's one more website that might help you. It's for the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. (NAMI) It's a self help site and it may offer you some insight about your feelings. Here's the link:
http://www.nami.org/
I know of these websites because I, too needed help and this was the place pointed out to me. Good Luck and God Bless, if you need someone, email me. I won't be back on until tomorrow so don't despair.

You know being baptized makes you WETTER but it does NO make you any BETTER!
If you have thought of suicide then the Samaritans are good people to ring.
About the voices in your head, have you been involved in any occult activity? Have you been to spiritualist meetings or seance's? Or involved in any other thing like Satan worship? As if you have that can cause the voices, this is VERY serious but DONT commit suicide, get help. The Samaritans are good and also a place called ELLEL GRANGE in the UK you will find them on the net, you can talk to them via email.
Don't delay. Hope this helps.

The fact that you are writing on the "Religion & Spirituality" list and mentioning baptisim indicates that you are searching for God somehow.
You should know that mankind has an enemy, and that enemy is the devil and his fallen angels, otherwise known as demons. They very often suggest thoughts to us that are aimed at our destruction, and they often try to play mind-games with us if we are not protected.
Holy Baptism - what the ancient church fathers called "rebirth" in the baptismal font - is a form of death to the old man and rebirth of the new man in Christ. It is a scourge to the demons and true baptism exorcises them and allows the grace of the Holy Spirit to enter into us so that we are protected from them (unless we invite them back again through our sinful behavior).
If these things mean something to you, you should go seek out spiritual counsel from a qualified priest. But whatever you do, do not give into the voices of the demonic host who are playing with you and tempting you to harm yourself. Read the gospel where Jesus crossed the sea over to the land of the Gardarenes and encountered the man possessed by legions of demons. When Christ cast them out, they asked permission to go into a herd of swine, and as soon as they did, they drove the herd into the water to death by drowning. There are a number of messages in this gospel lesson: 1) the demons are bent on destroying whatever they get into; 2) they must obey Jesus Christ; 3) they themselves are destroyed in the water, which is symbolic of the baptismal font.
May God enlighten you and lead you to the help you need.

I'm sorry you are hurting. We all go through tough times. We all go through those times we think we can't get through, but we do, and we are still here. You weren't put here to commit suicide. You have a reason and even though you may not feel it, someone may need you! I don't even know you and I don't want you to do that. But you aren't alone. Lots of people think of it, its just that they don't act on it. You have to concentrate on telling the voices in your head to sit down and shut up. This is your life, and you want control of it back. I know what you mean about the baptism, but that won't help you. That is just an outward sign of giving your heart to God. Like a wedding ring. The Bible says not to commit cold blooded murder, and killing yourself is just that, and with no way to ask for forgiveness after you've done it. There is too much to live for. Concentrate on the good things in your life, and try to focus on doing something you like each day. YOU are worth it!!! Come on now! Don't let me down! I want you to make it. Not just survive, but to thrive- to realize that "there is a joy in the journey- and a life we can love on the way, there is a wildness and wonder to life and freedom for all those who obey." -- words off a Michael Card song.
Come on dude(ette) your YA family loves you and we are all "rooting" for you to still be on here for a long time. The world as we know it won't be complete without you.

Baptism won't make demons go away.
Perhaps its Dissociative Identity Disorder? Unless you hear them while your just awake and doing things. I hear voices and I'm on an anti-psychotic and 3 anti-depressants and I feel like a perfectly normal person now with no side effects. Its nice, no voices or depression for the most part.

What exactly is your question? All I can say is I hear voices all the time and thought about suicide numerous times, you just have to tune them out, pray, meditate or find a hobby. MOST IMPORTANTLY, know how valuable your life is and being baptized isn't gonna guarantee a pleasant eternal resting place if you commit suicide. Get my drift?

Buddy, we all hear voices in our head. Every time we think of a particular person we can hear the sound of their voice. Oh and if everybody that gets baptized committed suicide, it would literally become a small world!

Don't worry about getting Baptized, get medical help. Sounds like an old fashioned case of schizophrenia, there's meds for that. After that if you still feel the need to find a belief, go for it.
